Elliott Williams, born in the delta river port town of Greenville, Mississippi, was an unlikely choice to be an artist/designer as his early childhood was consumed by sports and student politics. In his senior year in high school he was elected president of the student body and received a full scholarship to play football at the University of Texas at El Paso.
After one year of college Elliott realized that his options were much broader than just a possible career in the NFL. Elliott discovered that his passion for business, music and being true to himself superseded his love and need for football.
To the surprise of his family, friends and especially his coaching staff Elliott voluntarily gave back his full football scholarship. In most cases this turn of events would create a crossroads for a 19 year old student living miles away from home, but as usual he had a plan. Elliott would soon become a licensed radio announcer/party dj and open his own retail record store located in the shadows of the Fort Bliss army barracks which would cater to the incoming soldiers.
The success of his retail store proved to be a true blessing from God and by 1976 Elliott was able to pay off all of his college expenses out of pocket. Along the way he also made lasting friendships, had fun and also received a degree in Business Management, becoming the first college graduate in his family.
Four years after graduating Elliott quickly moved up the retail management ladder for the company he was employed. By this time he was also using his gift for design by making ear rings out of scraps of leather and by hand painting or air brushing his own designs on them. After the completion of these products Elliott would give them to young ladies that he knew. One of these ladies was a fashion model and friend of his who wore a pair of his handmade ear rings for a photo shoot. His product was very well-received and the model came back to Elliott and told him he could turn this hobby into a good business.
Later in 1980, Elliott would launch what would one day become ezduzit by elliott.
Elliott believes his art/designs are divinely inspired by his love and passion for pop culture, music, world peace and a green earth. Elliott, over the years, has designed everything from clothes to clocks as well as a fashion accessory line that has sold in better boutiques, airports and gift stores worldwide.
Elliott is proud and honored to have done custom collections for museum stores from Canada to California, including the Newseum in Washington DC, the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Dallas Woman’s Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada.
Elliott is a modern artist/designer/poet. All of his products are handmade from recycled, reused or repurposed materials. He creates his collage artwork then prints it on fabric to be made into unique, artful and thought provoking handbags, wallets and “love” vest.
Elliott credits his success and his joy to God and family. He is married to Vanessa and has a son named Aten and a daughter named Rhiannon.
